BlackGuard uses a bounded authority-and-control analysis designed to produce useful executive findings without turning a client engagement into a theory seminar.
Define the question
Bound the institution, authority-bearing function, time period, trigger event and decision the client needs to make.
Reconstruct the formal structure
Review the records that establish intended authority: bylaws, policies, delegations, contracts, resolutions, job descriptions and relevant rules.
Map authority actually exercised
Identify who makes consequential decisions, approvals, vetoes, interpretations, allocations and enforcement choices in practice.
Map practical control
Determine who can observe, direct, coordinate, constrain, delay, block, override, correct or account for consequential action.
Test dependencies and rival explanations
Examine vendors, contracts, platforms, data systems, funders, boards, legacy relationships and ordinary delegation without presuming dysfunction.
Assess corrective capacity
Identify what the responsible authority can actually change, what recovery would require and what remains structurally constrained.
Deliver bounded findings
Translate the evidence into decision-grade findings and prioritized options: preserve, correct, recover, realign or investigate further.
Useful analysis can begin before privileged access.
Where evidence permits, BlackGuard can reconstruct substantial portions of an institution's authority and control structure using public records, policies, contracts, filings, governance materials and credible reporting. Internal records and interviews can then sharpen the picture when authorized.
No black-box scoring.
BlackGuard does not use unvalidated numerical governance scores or confidence percentages. Findings are tied to evidence status, contrary evidence, rival explanations and explicit unknowns.

Client-specific findings, maps and recommendations may be delivered. Underlying research architecture, BlackGuard operating mechanics and reusable methodology remain protected unless expressly authorized in writing.
